The Savoie local council considers sustainable development the cornerstone of all of its policies. In terms of communal transport, due to the fact that car usage - which represents 75% of all trips - is still the predominant mode of transport, the council has decided to encourage a new process in September 2009.

Therefore, to connect territories and encourage long-term mobility for all, the Savoie local council is organising, managing and financing the Belle Savoie Express network, providing transport via bus, beyond the areas served by the urban network. The running of the Belle Savoie Express network is entrusted to private carriers.
This network represents approximately forty regular services serving the districts of Savoie:
This network is complemented by services of local interest ensuring, once a week, from rural areas, service from the district administrative centre to serve the local needs of those who have no other means of transport.
